Two takeaways. If you don’t see the Copilot option, you’ll need to first subscribe to Microsoft 365 Copilot.” The AI presentation creator can start from a Word, Excel or PDF file or from a description, then generate a draft, speaker notes and agenda slides.
The value is beyond the free plan: if your organization has already deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot, it is the least expensive tool to learn, and the only one that works directly on your OneDrive and SharePoint files. Canva Magic Design: the consumer free tier
Canva is the only one in this survey that spells out its offer in a FAQ: “Magic Design is available to use up to 10 times for free across all its versions, including Global Search, Presentations, and Video.” (official FAQ, August 25, 2026) In practice: you type your topic in the creator’s search bar, the AI produces a slide draft, then you customize with the built-in themes and styles.
The cap is shared: the same allowance feeds global search and video, not just presentations. If you make three decks and two videos in a month, you approach the limit faster than expected. The basic editor itself stays free for manual layout, and .pptx export is available.
Slidesgo: 3 free presentations a month, templates included
Slidesgo’s FAQ answers its own question “Is the AI Presentation Maker free?” in black and white: “You can create up to 3 free presentations every month to test out the service and see how it fits your needs.” The free tier also includes more than 400 templates and full use of the creator, compatible with Google Slides and PowerPoint (official page, August 25, 2026).
Premium costs €4.99 a month, or €2.50 a month billed annually (€29.99 a year), with the full library of more than 30,000 templates and attribution removed. For a teacher or student who repeats the class format, it is the best templates-to-price ratio in this survey.
Presentations.AI: 100 credits, then $20 a month
The English page (as measured on August 25, 2026) shows a clean table: “Starter, Try free, 100 credits, $0/mo,” then “Pro, 5,000 credits, $20/mo, billed annually” and “Gold, 50,000 credits, $100/mo, billed annually.” The promise: turn texts, PDFs, URLs, Google Docs and spreadsheets into ready-to-use presentations and generate editable PowerPoint files.
100 credits typically mean two or three complete presentations: enough to validate the tool on a real project. The positioning is clear: an enterprise platform with brand control and PowerPoint exports, rather than a student generator.
Beautiful.ai: automated design, but no free plan
Beautiful.ai has no free plan: the pricing page offers a 14-day trial, with this note in the FAQ: “A credit card is required for the 14-day Pro trial.” The rates: Pro at $12 a month billed annually (as measured on August 25, 2026; the same page alternates $12 and $14.50 depending on the displayed variant), with a $45 one-time monthly option for an ad hoc project, and Teams at $40 per user a month billed annually. For a fundraising pitch or a C-level deliverable, the output is often the best on the market: automatic layout, consistent design rules, PowerPoint import and export. The best use: your classes, meeting notes and course decks that already look like slides. The 1,000-character limit per presentation forces you to split the content, and 12 presentations a year do not cover a weekly use. Tome, the former reference in this category, is dead: its site no longer responds (404) and the Koino comparison from March 2026 confirms the presentation service shut down in April 2025, with the team moving to an AI CRM. The method: from outline to exportable PowerPoint in 5 steps
The generator does not replace thinking: it lays it out. The presentations that work always follow the same path, and that is where AI gives its best.
- Write your contract. One sentence: who the presentation is for, what must be decided at the end, and the duration. “Explain the new reimbursement procedure to 40 managers, decision to make: the rollout date,” that is a brief. “A quick recap of AI” is not.
